My primary subjects are nature and landscapes. Nature is rich with color ranging from pastel to vibrant and can impart emotions of nostalgia, fascination and majesty.  Landscapes are dynamic and constantly changing impacted by sun, wind, rain and the hands of man.

I love the use of slow shutter speeds to create a sense of motion, reflections to create a mirror effect, dramatic perspective with wide angle lenses and vibrant saturated color. In my early years I got used to the color saturation from Kodachrome and Velvia slide films and am drawn to this kind of color today. Many of my recent images use High Dynamic Range (HDR) techniques that combine as many as 7 individual exposures into a single picture that will display a tonal range of color in the shadows and highlights that could not be created any other way. These are the ultimate in color expression.

I do some black and white, architecture, people and experiment with digital painting.  I travel and will share pictures of places I have been in my blog.
